The MatteView app does not collect, sell, or share personal data from your use of its camera features. Optional support correspondence is described below.

The app uses your device camera so you can compose photographs with a visible matt. When you take a photo, MatteView saves the image to your device’s Photos library only when you choose to save it.

Photos are processed locally on your device. MatteView does not upload your photos to our servers or retain server-side copies.

The MatteView app does not require an account, collect email addresses, track your location, use advertising trackers, use analytics SDKs, use crash-reporting SDKs, or sell user data.

Permissions

MatteView uses camera access for live composition and add-only Photos permission to save images to your Photos library. You can change or revoke these permissions in your device’s Settings. Disabling camera access prevents live camera use; disabling Photos access prevents saving new images to Photos.

Photo and local-data deletion

You control how long saved photographs remain in your Photos library and can delete them using the Photos app. Deleting MatteView does not delete photographs already saved to Photos. Your own iCloud Photos settings may sync those photographs with iCloud and your other devices. Local app preferences are stored on your device and can be removed by deleting the app.

Support correspondence

If you contact us, we receive your email address and the information you provide. We use this information to respond to your request. We delete support correspondence when it is no longer needed to resolve your inquiry. You may request deletion by emailing privacy@matteboxlabs.com.
